In the late 90s, the toy collecting hobby took Singapore by storm, echoing similar developments in fanboy communities all over the world. In Singapore you can find (almost) the best of Eastern and the Western pop culture goods. Shops here retail toys and related merchandise from both US, Japan and Hong Kong. Compared to the time when policemen wore shorts, it is easier now for toy collectors to find stuff that they want.

Although Ultraman toys aren't as common as Gundam or Transformers, there are some places here where you can find Ultraman goods. Here's where to look if you are hunting for Ultraman merchandise in Singapore:

Ultraman literature, as compared to the toys and merchandise, is harder to find. Although the local branch of Kinokuniya is well stocked in fanboy comics, books and mooks, they do not bring in Ultraman related publications as a rule. This policy might be related to fallout from the copyright tussle between Tsuburaya Production and Chaiyo. The customer service staff will tell you that they couldn't bring in Ultraman books due to copyright issues. Then again, if you are lucky, they might make exceptions for you. After all, they'd already brought in Figure King issue 82, the one with Ultraman on the cover.
