The Debut of Ultraman Max!
Ultraman Max comes from one the “Red Type” of Ultra warrior, similar to Ultraseven. This series will bring the franchise back to the time where Ultraman is a professional “Kaiju buster” from M-78 nebula. The fearsome kaijus (Eleking, Baltan, Gomora etc) from Heisei era will return, and every week Ultraman Max will battle a different creature. A return to the good old days!
The 6 “S” Maxims of Ultraman Max
The new series will abide by the 6 Maxims: [1] STORY: The story will be exciting and fun. [2] SIMPLE: The story is to have depth yet at the same time the drama will be simple and accessible. [3] SPEED: The action sequences will be fast-paced and dazzling. [4] STRONG: Max is to be a brave, strong and inspirational hero. [5] S.F: This story will return to its roots as a science fiction drama. [6] SENSE of WONDER: This story is to stoke the imagination of people from all over the world, and to allow them to experience the incredible.
The production staff is made up of the dream team - Shusuke Kaneko (金子修介), of Gamera, Godzilla and Ultra Q ~ Dark Fantasy ~ fame, will be taking the helm of the first two episodes. According to news sources, cult-director Takashi Miike (三池崇史), who directed films such as Yokai Daisenso and Zebraman will also be co-directing some episodes in this series. The legendary Ishiro Honda (本多猪四郎) will serve as the inspiration for these young directors. The other members of the production dream team includes Kenji Suzuki (鈴木健二) and Hirochika Muraishi (村石宏實).
The lead character - Kaito transforms into Ultraman Max with the “Max Spark” device. Though new, the hero will be showing off the familiar moves - the L-shaped arm pose sends out the deadly “Maxium Cannon” beam and the Eye Slugger fin-weapon returns in the style of “Maxium Sword". Similarly, Ultraman Max will also be restricted by the 3-mins time limit. When the time is running out, the blue-lit ‘Power Timer’ will start blinking in red.
The KING Returns
Eleking returns in the second episode of Ultraman Max. In this episode, Eleking invades the city to feed on the power grid. The creature wrecks the power infrastructure as it feeds. This Eleking, is no push over as compared to the original one from Ultraseven. The new Eleking is armed with sharp claws and has a violent attitude match.
